On the day of your first appointment, we will have an in-depth discussion to understand your needs to help you to improve the quality of your life. While an external examination will often suffice, some conditions may require an internal vaginal examination and/or internal release of the pelvic floor. Should your physiotherapist determine that an internal examination is required, this will only be carried out with your full informed consent. Should you feel uncomfortable at any point, you will be able to stop the examination.
Following your physiotherapy session, you will likely be given exercises to do at home, comprising of kegal, and pelvic floor exercises. It is highly recommended that these are done in accordance with the instructions provided by your physiotherapist in order to speed up recovery.
